Director, Legal

Navacord is looking to add an experienced lawyer to its growing team as Director, Legal to be based out their Toronto office. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, with a focus on supporting the operating brokerages of the Navacord group, the successful candidate will advise on a broad range of transactional corporate/commercial matters as well as on key strategic initiatives. You will also advise on employment matters, litigation management, and regulatory and compliance requirements. This role will suit a collaborative and adaptable lawyer with the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of broad corporate/commercial experience including experience negotiating complex commercial contracts, advising on acquisitions and dispositions, and will have a solid understanding of employment law and HR matters. Experience advising clients in the insurance or financial services sectors would be an asset. This is a unique opportunity to take on a newly created role where you can make a significant impact and play a key role in the growth of the organization.
